Chopped Champions Dinner – Chefs Joe Rego and Justin Burdett
Portuguese Chef Joe Rego won Chopped Season 12 Episode 7 last summer. Today he is the executive chef at Front Porch in Tallahaee, Fla – considered North Florida’s best seafood restaurant.
Chef Rego brings diners the experience of Southern hospitality and flavor using the freshest farm-to-table produce and local seafood from the Gulf Coast.

This weekend Chef Rego and also Chopped Champion Justin Burdett are presenting a Chopped Champions Dinner at the Front Porch on March 3, 2013. The two celebrity chefs will show off their skills with a unique Spanish inspired menu.
Guests will also get a chance to interact with the chefs in an intimate dining experience. Congratulations to the chefs on their success!

Emeril Lagasse é um dos Chefs mais famosos dos Estados Unidos. Foi um dos primeiros apresentadores a fazer programas de culinária na televisão. É conhecido por dizer “BAM!” sempre que coloca especiarias na comida. O seu trabalho é fortemente influenciado pela sua mãe portuguesa. Soube adaptar esse conhecimento ao gosto dos americanos e tem muito sucesso.
Por exemplo, tive a oportunidade de provar uns pastéis de bacalhau que, com quais, ele serviu um delicioso molho (americano adora mergulhar comida em molhos) numa tigela. Em Portugal não me lembro de mergulhar pasteis de bacalhau numa tigela com molho. Mas o Emeril fez o casamento perfeito.
O mais engraçado é que por vezes ele vai a Portugal para visitar os seus familiares e passa por despercebido. Nos Estados Unidos ele é uma celebridade de topo.
